This year the City of Accra has been counted among of of the cities around the world to proudly host an Independent Social Media Week. This aims at bringing together stories and insights of how social media has affected (and continues to affect) businesses, societies, and popular culture globally.

With Day One of SMWi out of the way - and with the Mayor of Accra's blessing - all was set for a second day that saw four presentations under the them of content creation take place.

From midday till the early evening hours, the four presentations given by experienced professionals ranged from "pursuing a career in digital marketing", given by Mr. Princewell Osaro Omogiuwa, a successful serial entrepreneur, to "the power of Twitter," that had award-winning broadcast journalist, Nana Ama Anamoah, also participating.

Other topics covered were "Using Linkdin for Profession Brand Enhancement", presented by Ms. Jamila Abdulai, and "Creating content that people love," two great presentations given by Nana Asihene, Creative Director of NKACC, a boutique agency that's done work for the likes of Coca Cola, Airtel, and UNCDF, and Mercedes Benson, a brands influencer.

Social media enthusiast who wouldn't or couldn't make it into the presentation venue had the opportunity to watch presentations at the Accra Mall's food court, which had been transformed into a lounge area with a big screen at one end.
