American talk show host Oprah Winfrey has thrown a surprise cherishing party for her father Vernon Winfrey.
Backyard barbeque
The media personality, 68, celebrated United States of America's Independence Day by hosting a backyard party for her ailing dad.
Oprah took to her Instagram and stated that the real reason for the barbeque was to hold an appreciation day for him.

She captioned the post:

"My father is ill and so we wanted to be able to have all of his friends come and celebrate him while he's able to receive the joy," she said.
According to People, Oprah showed off a banner behind her in her 88-year-old father's honour.

Michelle Obama celebrates Oprah
On Tuesday, May 24, popular Kenyan website, TUKO.co.ke, reported Former US president Barack Obama's wife Michelle Obama honoured television personality, Oprah Winfrey, in a moving post.
Michelle took to her Facebook, posting a lengthy and heartwarming message celebrating Oprah, saying she has a remarkable legacy.
The former US first lady noted Oprah has been such a wonderful friend to Obama and her over the years.
