Phase 2 covers the construction of three overpasses at key junctions along the corridor. Work at Anomangye Junction and Magazine New Road Junction has been fully completed, while the overpass at Abusuakruwa Junction stands at 98.25 per cent completion.
The phase also includes the widening of Offinso Road, designated as the N10 highway, into a 2x3-lane dual carriageway.
That component is currently 77% complete. On the local roads front, 13.2 kilometres out of a planned 15 kilometres have been finished, with improvements also made to selected intersections along the route.
Agbodza said the completion of Phase 2 is intended to ease congestion in the area and create the conditions necessary for accelerated work to begin on Phase 1.
Phase 1 represents the more complex portion of the overall Suame Interchange Project.
Its scope includes the construction of a three-tier interchange at Suame, two overpasses at Abrepo and Krofrom junctions, and the widening of both the Eastern and Western Bypass roads.
The minister's inspection signals that authorities are monitoring progress closely as the October target approaches, with the Suame corridor being one of the busiest and most congested arterial routes in the Ashanti Region.
