104-Year-Old Widow who Sleeps on a Mat Has Her Room Transformed By Charity, Emotional Photos Melt Hearts

A widowed centenarian who sleeps on a mat in a shabby room has had her place transformed by the local charity organisation Kessben Outreach Foundation in Ghana.

According to social media user Sammy Adu Boakye, the 104-year-old grandmom's eight children and husband have passed away.

The charity provided her with a new bed and mattress to ensure the centenarian sleeps in a decent room, said Boakye.

Widow's feeding and medical care

Boakye assured that the widow would not have to worry about her medical care and fending for herself.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a brilliant orphan who obtained 8As in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has been given a scholarship.

The young man, whose name has been withheld, desires a career in the medical field but had his dream hanging in the balance due to financial constraints.

He received help after Ghanaian social media user Sammy Adu Boakye highlighted the plight in a Facebook post.
