Pakistan: Beautiful Story of Family With World Record for Having 9 Members Sharing Same Birthday

  • Mangi, his wife Khudeja, and their seven children, ranging in age from 19 to 30, share a remarkable coincidence—they were all born on August 1
  • This extraordinary synchronicity has earned them a well-deserved place in the Guinness World Records as the family with the highest number of members sharing a birthday
  • What makes their story even more astonishing is that all seven children, including two sets of twins, were born naturally, without any induced labor for the mother

It is not every day that you come across one family with several members who were born in different years but the same month and day.

That is the reality with the Mangi family, from Lakarna, Pakistan, which has nine members who share the same birthday.

All members bon on August 1

According to the Guinness World Records, the family consists of father Ameer Ali, mother Khudeja, and seven children aged between 19 and 30.

They include Sindhoo, female twins Sasui and Sapna, Aamir, Ambar, and male twins Ammar and Ahmar.

Apart from the fact that they all share the name Mangi, all the nine members were born on August 1, so they all celebrate their birthdays on the same day.

Official data shows that the family holds the world record for the most family members born on the same day.

"The date is extra special for Ameer and Khudeja as it’s also their wedding anniversary. They married on their birthday in 1991, exactly one year before their eldest daughter was born," Guinness World Records writes.

Gift from God

Ameer revealed that he was “surprised and delighted” when they welcomed his first child, Sindhoo, on 1 August 1992, the same birthday as him and his wife.

They were even more surprised when every other successive birth they had happened on the same date, what they term as a “gift from God.”

The family's two sets of twins Ammar and Ahmar, were born in 2003, five years after the couple welcomed twin girls Sasui and Sapna.

Interestingly, all the children were conceived and born naturally, and none of the deliveries were labor-induced or done via caesarean section.

“Earlier we used to celebrate our birthdays in a simple manner, but now we do it a lot more and with a lot of happiness,” Sasui expressed, adding that they share one birthday cake rather than having nine.

Record previously held by the Cummins

Apart from the above, the family also holds the record for the highest number of siblings born on the same day.

Previously, this record was held by the Cummins family from the USA, whose five children were all born on 20 February between 1952 and 1966.

Until the Mangi family came to light, the Cummins family's case was the sole verified instance of a family having five children with coinciding birthdays.
