"I had an uncle who had asked me to send money so that he could buy a particular vehicle for which he had sent pictures to me. He said he would be a taxi driver. I trusted him. I expected to come back to Kenya and get busy in other ways," she narrated.
The Nairobi woman believed his uncle and was convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that he would keep the end of his bargain.
He had promised her she would have an up-and-running business when she returned from the Gulf, but that was not the case; he lied.
She was conned while working hard to get school fees for her brother to continue with his education as she helped her uncle.
"He conned me around KSh 180,000. And it is now almost six years. I came back in 2016. We have never met. He even blocked me. I was disappointed but accepted what had happened," she stated.
