The police, suspecting that Pascaline was abducted, arrested her boyfriend and several others in the house.
Soon after she was brought home, the young girl lost her life. Initial reports suggested that she had harmed herself because her relationship with her high school sweetheart ended after the arrest.
However, Pascaline's father rubbished the rumours about her cause of death in a recent interview.
He claimed that her daughter passed away at the hospital after she contracted severe Malaria.
He noted that the condition of the house her daughter was allegedly camping in was unsanitary and infested with mosquitoes, which could have led to the sickness that claimed her life.
A post-mortem has yet to be conducted, as per the account of Pascaline's father.
