Man United Flops Set to Join Brazilian Clubs After Months As Free Agents
- Two former Manchester United players are set to join Brazilian clubs after being free agents for months
- The Red Devils parted ways with many players in the summer, with Anthony Martial being one of them
- The Frenchman was one of the most exciting players when he joined the club in 2015 but injuries and inconsistent performances saw him struggle
Manchester United released many players this past summer, and although some of them immediately found new teams, others have not.
Their two former players once dubbed the next big thing, have struggled to find new homes, but it appears Brazilian clubs have come to the rescue.
Former Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay are reportedly edging towards moves to Brazil, per Football365.
Martial left the club last summer when his deal expired. The Frenchman played nine seasons in the Premier League, but injuries hampered him in his last few seasons at Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old bagged 90 goals for the club in over 300 appearances, winning the FA Cup and the Europa League.
Depay, on the other hand, played for Man United between 2015 and 2017. He arrived at the club after the 2014 World Cup and failed to live up to expectations.
The report adds that Martial is closing in on a transfer to Flamengo, while the Dutchman is expected to join Corinthians.
Man United told to fire Erik ten Hag
YEN,com.gh earlier reported that Man United legend Dwight Yorke urged Man United to get rid of Erik ten Hag and hire Zinedine Zidane.
The treble winner feels Zidane brings pedigree, which will attract some top players around the world.
The Dutchman is in his third season as coach and has won two trophies. However, the club's Premier League performances have been disappointing.
Will Manchester United sack ten Hag?
YEN.com.gh had earlier reported that Man United had made a sack decision on ten Hag. Two senior board members reportedly still believe the former Ajax manager will turn around the club's fortunes.
Ten Hag is set to get a slight reprieve and a step away from the rigours of the Premier League during this international window.
