Erling Haaland continues to prove why he is one of the best players in the world thanks to his incredible form.
The Norwegian has scored 10 goals in the Premier League this season and also reached 100 goals for Manchester City
There are not many players who scored in the first five games of a Premier League season.
The 24-year-old continues to break Premier League records, and it is hard to believe he could hit 100 goals in the English top-flight this season.
He has won the last two Golden Boots in the league and barring injuries, he will win his third this campaign. Here are other player players who scored in the opening five weeks of the league.
Who else scored in the first five weeks?
Wayne Rooney (2011-12)
The England legend retired as Manchester United's all-time top scorer. He scored all types of goals and assisted over 100. In the 2011/12 season, the Red Devils made a red-hot start, and Rooney was at the centre of it. They won their opening five games, including the famous 8-2 win over Arsenal. They also beat Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in that run, with Rooney scoring nine goals, including back-to-back hat-tricks.
Rooney ended the season with a career-best 27 Premier League goals, but his club went trophyless. They famously lost the title on goal difference.
Jose Antonio Reyes (2004-05)
The late Spanish forward only scored 16 Premier League goals for Arsenal and was the first player to bag five in the opening five weeks, per Transfermarkt. He joined the team during the iconic 2003/04 season, and Reyes was on fire the following season. The Gunners won eight of their first nine league games but couldn't defend their title.
Sergio Aguero (2019-20)
The Manchester City legend is the leading goal scorer among foreigners in the Premier League. He scored seven goals in the first six games of the 2019/20 and ended the season with 16 league goals.
Health issues forced him to retire, but he remains one of the Premier League's greats. He hung his boots with 184 goals in the English top-flight, the fifth most in history.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (2020-21)
The Everton striker has struggled with injuries in the last few years, but he is a talented striker. In the 2020/21 season, he scored in the first five games, including a hat-trick against West Brom. He scored against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool and ended the season with 16 league goals.
Erling Haaland (2024/25)
The Norwegian has been on fire since joining Manchester City in 2022. However, he seems to be hitting a new level every season. He has scored 100 goals for Man City in 105 appearances and 73 Premier League goals in 71 matches, a staggering pace.
This season, he has bagged 10 goals, including back-to-back hat-tricks. He is on track to win a third straight Premier League Golden Boot and is a leading contender for the 2024 Ballon d'Or.
