The most empathetic and effective leader and statesman died in a chopper crash in West Pokot. Doing what he did best for the better part of the last 40 years - trying to keep Kenya safe," part of the post shared on LinkedIn by a broken Omondi read.

She said that one day, she would narrate the beautiful stories of how his father taught "with his actions and not with his words".

The young lady shared a throwback photo of his father in the company of the current president of Kenya, William Samoei Ruto.

He walked with King Charles III on the red carpet during his four-day State visit to Kenya in October 2023.

Kenyans mourn death of Francis Ogolla

Elsewhere, Kenyans trooped to various social media platforms to register concern after learning that Ogolla was involved in a plane crash.

Reports indicated that authorities confirmed the loss of five individuals in the devastating accident, while three individuals managed to survive.

Elgeyo-Marakwet County Commandant Peter Mulinge said the three survivors were airlifted by another KDF aircraft.

One of the new trains set to ply the Tema-Mpakadan rail line has been involved in an accident.

Railways Minister Peter Amewu confirmed the accident to the media and noted the train crashed into a truck.

The train was on a test run when the accident occurred, but no casualties are reported to have occurred.
