The ruler of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfou Osei Tutu II has declared that he is a proud member of the Freemasons, and has described the society as a ‘way of life’.

The Asantehene affirmed, that the principles and beliefs of the Lodge that were instilled him, have served him well in his daily role as the ruler of the Ashanti Kingdom.

He stated that it was time the world ‘opened’ their eyes and joined the Freemasons.
According to a report by Ghanacrusader.com, the Otumfuo who was present at the launch of the book: “The Freemasons; who we are; what we stand for and do; our relevance – An insider’s view”, recommended it to everyone to read.
The book was authored by Abraham Gyesie, who is currently the Honorary Senior Grand Warden and Chairman of the Grand Lodge Masonic Education Committee.
Meanwhile, Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has explained the relevance of the Freemasons to society.
Kufuor referred to the group as one that holds morality to high esteem, but that is also shrouded by allegory and illustrated by symbols.
The former president who is the Senior Grand Warden of the United Grand Lodge of England, further said freemasonry is about charity work.
