10 schools whose students will definitely blow the WASSCE

It’s that time again where final year students in the various Senior High Schools (SHS) prepare for the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

For most students this is the time to show that their three years spent at SHS was never a waste of time as they prepare to undertake their final exams.

For parents, too, this is the time where they expect their wards to come out with flying colours and to prove that the money spent on them has not gone waste.

But to be honest, the grades of most SHS students will largely be dependent on the schools they attend.

Students of an A-listed school are more likely to record higher pass marks as compared to those rates as B or C schools.

As a result, there are some SHS schools whose students rarely fail in the WASSCE exams due to the quality of education that they enjoy as well as a number of other factors.

Here are 10 schools whose students will definitely blow the WASSCE exams:

1. Achimota SHS

The Achimota Senior High School is one of the highly rated senior high schools in the country. The school boasts of some of the best teachers you can find, and as a result, most of their students usually pass the WASSCE.

Students of Achimota topped the 2016 WASSCE after recording a 100% pass, which had most of the students getting ones in all subjects, and this year is expected to be very much the same.

2. PRESEC Legon

The Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC Legon) has always been among the top ranked schools when it comes to the performance of students in the WASSCE.

The boys school is once again expected to perform well in this year’s exams due to the high standards that they have set over the years.

3. Prempeh College

Prempeh College has also been one of the lading secondary schools in the country over the years. The school has also often performed creditably in the WASSCE exams.

Prempeh is most often ranked in the top 10 when it comes of student performances in the WASSCE and you can bet they will deliver once again.

4. Opoku Ware

The Opoku Ware Senior High School is definitely the best school in the Ashanti region, and in Ghana as a whole.

The school was rated fourth in the list of best Ghanaian SHS schools in the last decade and it is likely that students of Opoku Ware will not disappoint in this year’s WASSCE.

5. Wesley Girls

In 2016, three students of the Wesley Girls Senior High School completely swept the WAEC awards, including the flagship best student in West Africa.

The school is currently among the best in the country, having sen their students chalk successes in the WASSCE in recent years.

6. Adisadel College

It goes without saying that Adisadel College is one of the best secondary schools in Ghana. In fact, in 2014 the school was ranked as the 10th best Secondary School in Africa.

Also, the performance of their schools in the WASSCE cannot be understated and you can bet they will once again deliver this year.

7. Mfantsipim

Mfantsipim Senior High School is one of the schools that should be looked out for in the 2018 WASSCE exams.

10. Aburi Girls

Aburi Girls Senior High School is one of the best performing girls schools in the country. In fact, the school rubs shoulders with the mixed secondary schools in the country.

Aburi Girls students can be expected to perform very well in the 2018 WASSCE, just as they have always done.
