Speaking to Joy News’ Mz Gee, Patapaa alleged that Charter House took ‘stupid’ money from Fancy Gadam and gave him an award he didn’t deserve.
The Swedru-based artiste who was visibly disappointed in his interview said he was peeved for not clinching to any award at the 2018 VGMAs, where he had tipped himself to walk away with at least an award.
Although Patapaa in the interview didn’t want to comment on his lost initially, he was forced to speak out upon second thought.
"VGMAs organizers must stop doing this, they must go ahead and award artistes based on his work. They don’t go about taking ‘stupid’ monies and give another person’s award to the other,” Patapaa jabbed.

He also added, “If you notice, the crowd was cheering and screaming my name that I deserve the award. Even giving the award to Fancy Gadem didn’t ignite any good feeling from the audience”.
He further cautioned Charter House to expect a controversial song from him as to why he did not win the popular song of the year category.
Prior to the VGMAs, Patapaa had expressed optimism of winning the ‘Most Popular Song of the Year’ category.
However, he angrily stormed out of the International Conference Centre after losing the most popular song of the year to Tamale-based hit-maker, Fancy Gadam.
