She revealed how special their father was in her life, especially, and how he taught all of them to appreciate what they had whether good or bad.
“My father was very special in my life," she said , beating her chest gently. "He taught us to appreciate whatever we had whether good or bad because someone somewhere would wish to have it,” Ama read.

She mentioned her father as one of the most loving people she knew on earth, stressing that his life was worth emulating.
Ama also praised her late father as one who loved education, believed knowledge was power, and was always ready to give those “tools” to others, including his own children.
She concluded the tribute by saying that “I am very lucky to have [had] such a man as my father.”
Her tribute caught the attention of many in the auditorium and was followed with a loud and long applause.
The tribute also portrayed Kofi Annan as a wonderful dad who was there for his children, bringing them up in the best way he could.
