Kuami Eugene explains how he built his music career from scratch

- Highlife singer, Kuami Eugene has said that he has not had life easy as some people think.

- He claimed he has been in the business for a while and has worked his way up the ladder.

Singer, Kuami Eugene, has come out to debunk claims by people who have the notion that he has had an easy going life before the genesis of his career.

According to him what people do not know is that he had taken time to study the industry very well and had worked hard to get where he currently found himself.

Speaking in an interview with the Graphic Showbiz, he explained how he used to run away from school just to go places to train himself on how to play musical instruments like the guitar and the keyboard.

“I have been through a process, it didn’t come on a silver platter. I am from the streets so it was tough for me but God has been faithful,” he said.

The 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music New Ariste of the year, further explained that he had taken the pains to learn how to produce his own work because funds were not available to pay producers as at the time he started his musical career.

To those who thought he just became associated with music as a result of his participation in the MTN hitmaker, Eugene explained he had been working behind the scenes for a very long time and has duly done his homework.

Responding to claims that he does songs out of his age bracket, the 22 year old highlife musician explained that he had taken time to listen to great musicians like Awura Ama Badu, J.A Adofo, Knii Lante, Adane Best, and Kojo Antwi for a long time.

According to him he is usually not disturbed about those comments since he sees no use of them

He however revealed that he gets affected whenever his mum registered her displeasure about what people said about him.
