27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

She could also have considered the great multitude of people moving with Jesus and see that as a barrier. Instead, she looked beyond that. Her thirst for a healing made her to become desperate. She was willing to do whatever it would take her to get her cup of healing filled up. Consequently, she had to defy all odds and reach out to the healing virtue flowing through Jesus.
4. The woman reached out by faith to Jesus
In this journey of life, as Christians, faith is one important virtue that you need. To please God, you need faith (Heb 11:6) and to receive anything from Him, you also need faith (Mark 11:23). If you don't have faith, you are not likely to go far in life. In fact, Romans 1:17 also attests to the fact that it is by faith that a just man can live. After the woman with an issue of blood had heard about Jesus, she reached out to him by faith. She thought within herself that if she could touch the hem of Jesus' garment, she would be made whole. And guess what? Her faith worked for her. God does not usually deny a man of faith. When you believe He can do something and you hold on to Him, He will not disappoint you eventually.
So, what are you going through? Your own problem may not be that of a ceaseless flow of blood. Whatever it is, there is a fountain in Jesus from whom you can draw virtues like the woman in our subject of discourse. If you go to him with your empty cup for a fill-up, you can always be assured of that. All you just need to do is reach out to him by faith. By faith, you gain access to your divine inheritance and enjoy all that God has for you.
