Historic photo of young Kwame Nkrumah and his mother stirs 'powerful' reactions

An adorable photo of Ghana’s Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah and his mother, Elizabeth Nyaniba, has generated pleasant reactions after it was shared online.

The photo shows Nkrumah’s late mother, Elizabeth Nyaniba, attired in a beautiful African print while seated in a chair and Kwame Nkrumah in suit and flying tie, seated next to his mother, the woman who gave Ghana a timeless treasure.

While the exact location is not detailed, the two revered personalities were captured at Cape Coast in 1947 when Nkrumah visited his mother.

Ghana the Black Star of Africa shared the photo, which has since gained some traction and adorable reactions from people.

Kwabena Havor wrote: ''My respect goes to you always Hero.''

''Wow,u guys are doing a great job,'' Emmanuel Brefo, said in reaction to the photo.

Other social media users reacted with lovely comments.

Ghana’s first President Kwame Nkrumah was the only child to his mother. Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah was born on September 21, 1909 and died on April 27, 1972.

Meanwhile, of what has become popular as Ghana’s most 'powerful' deity, the Nogokpo shrine, evokes fear and leaves many skins crawling with shivers at the mere mention of the name. Despite being shrouded in mystery, Nogokpo, is a small village in the Volta region, Ghana, and connotes ''stay in peace''.

However, peace does not mean freedom; one cannot access the entire township freely because there are areas that individuals are not permitted to access wearing either shoes or sandals.
