According to Pulse Ghana, on February 28, 2005, Atta Ayi was arrested following a tip-off by his niece for a different crime he had committed.

And in 2005, Atta Ayi was sentenced to 160 years in prison with hard labour on the charges of robbery and conspiracy to rob by Supreme Court Judge, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie.

Currently, Ataa Ayi is serving 160 years at the Ankaful Maximum security prisons in Cape Coast, Central Region.

With one hundred and forty-four years more to complete his prison sentence, a recent photo of Atta Ayi has emerged online, giving an insight into how Ghana’s highest serving convict is faring.

The photo was shared by Crime Check TV on its Facebook page with a caption aimed at inspiring people.

''With one hundred and forty-four years more to complete his prison sentence, my good friend, Ataa Ayi still has cause to smile. No matter the weight of your economic bondage, don't forget you have your FREEDOM.

Just a little more push could turn your fortunes around because there aren't physical walls around you. Never lose hope. Fight on. Life is a struggle,'' the Facebook post noted.

Ataa Ayi, who is reported to be the national leader of prisoners in the country is now a Christian convert who believes in Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal saviour.

Meanwhile, a video of a fine old man styled in native kaftan who was gleefully dancing with his daughter at her wedding reception has got many declaring they too are ''in love''.

At least, that is what a female voice in the video said: ''I'm in love right now.'' The video shows the man and the bride in syncopated choreographic moves as though they had rehearsed their dance steps prior to his daughter’s special day.

While details of the groom and bride, date and venue of the beautiful ceremony still remain unclear, the ecstatic old man and his daughter captured the attention of the people at the wedding reception.
