The situation has rendered the students homeless as eight out of the nine rooms of the Cardinal Dery dormitory were completely damaged.
The incident occurred in the afternoon of Monday, January 6, 2020, around 12:29pm, when the students were in class.
Per a report by Ghana Web, it was not until officers from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived that the fire was brought under control.
YEN.com.gh has learned that a similar fire outbreak occurred in March 2017 and it destroyed two dormitory blocks in the school.
This forced the school to make use of only two rooms as dormitories for all the students.
