This follows a claim by a female Christian preacher, Rebecca Godo, that those who wear earrings are bound to be thrown into hell.
In a post on her Facebook wall, Godo who consistently preaches against things she considers as worldliness on the social media platform suggested that the use of earrings was a sin.
According to her, it has never been God's plan for women to wear earrings because He would have made holes in their ears before birth.
For this reason, Godo added that even the tiniest of earrings worn by women will take them to hell and thus urged women to repent and stop using earrings.
"If GOD wants women to wear earrings, HE would had made HOLE in their ears before birth. Earrings has never be his plan. Dear, even tiny earrings on ur ears will take u to HELL. REPENT," she wrote.
Rebecca Godo's comment which could be deemed controversial have gathered many reactions from her followers who are divided in their opinions.
While many are bashing Godo, others are backing her claims.
