Sultan Ismail Ibn Sharif is one of the religious monarchs in the world who fathered many children. He was most known for having 888 kids.
Born around 1645 in Sijiimassa, the Moroccan sultan was the second ruler of the Alaouite dynasty, a position he held until 1727, and the seventh son of Moulay Sharif.
His reign was marked by a high show of military success which was a result of the strong army he created.
It should, however, be noted that after the sultan seized power, he had difficulties quelling rebellions, one of which was his nephew, Moulay Ahmed ben Mehrez.
Ismail was also known as a man with strong iron-will who gave so much to law and order, and believed so much in the fact that God gave him power and as such, no man can take it from his grip.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a king in north-west Cameroon, Abumbi II, has 100 wives and 500 children.
The 11th king of the Bafut, he ascended the throne when his father, King Achirimbi, died in 1968. After becoming the tribe’s traditional ruler, he also inherited his father’s 72 wives.
That inherited harem of women added to the 28 he already married to swell the count to 100. In an interview with the media, his third wife, Queen Constance said: “Behind every successful man must be a very successful, staunch woman.
“Our tradition has it that when you are king, the elderly wives remain to hand down the tradition to the younger wives, and also to teach the king the tradition because the king had been a prince, not a king.”
It was gathered that the queens appear to be educated and even command great significance in the community.
In other news, the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, is one of the richest religious monarchs in the world.
He was once worth $40 billion (N15,500,000,000,000). Some of his lavish lifestyles include reportedly racing Ferraris at midnight through Brunei’s capital, building a 1,788 room palace, and spending as much as $20,000 (N7,750,000) to get a haircut.
It should be noted that he succeeded his father, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien, who had 10 children from several wives.
