“In 2019, radical demonstrators violently stormed Hong Kong's Legislative Council building, wantonly damaged facilities, used toxic powders and liquids to attack and beat the police, and even bit a police officer’s finger off,” Hua said as quoted by South China Morning Post.

The senior Chinese official however, noted the authorities exercised restraint to avert deaths but mocked the US mainstream media for not condemning the violence in their country just as they did when Hong Kong protests erupted.

“Now the US mainstream media had unanimously criticised violent Trump fans in the Capitol saying it’s a violent event and those protesters are mobs, extremists...But what description did they use on the Hong Kong protest? ‘Beautiful sight," she said.

Hua wondered why US police officers used forced on protesters yet they have been in the forefront criticising other countries when they do the same.

"We also wish that the US people can enjoy peace, stability and security as soon as possible," Hua added.
