Single mother with heart condition appeals to the public for support for urgent surgery

- A mother of two who has developed a heart condition is appealing for funds to undergo surgery

Madam Evelyn Boadie who is suffering from heart disease has appealed to the general public to support her raise GH¢50,000 for surgery at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The 40-year-old single mother of two, developed a heart condition that has left her weak therefreo she is unable to work.

In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Kasapa FM, Evelyn Boadie who resides in Agona Ekwamkrom Dunkwa in the Agona West District of the Central region, disclosed that the sickness started in 2018.

She added that her husband as well as other family members had abandoned her since the sickness started and have stopped visiting her and her children.

“The disease has left my stomach swelling and according to the doctor’s report, there is water around my heart which has widened the heart. So I am appealing to the general public to come to my aid to raise the amount for my surgery.”

Madam Evelyn Boadie revealed that at the initial stages, she thought she had taken seed and was going to give birth but checks showed that it was rather a heart condition.

She appealed to government officials, Philanthropists, NGOs, and the general public to assist her to raise 50,000 cedis for her surgery else she may lose her life.

Moving away from sad news, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Deputy Education Minister and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has paid full university fees for 30 freshers in his constituency.

The 30 new entrants into the tertiary level are all headed to University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) at Tarkwa to study various engineering courses.
