Popular American rapper, Lil Wayne, has shown gratitude to former US president, Donald Trump, for granting him clemency.

The music star who was facing up to 10 years in jail was pardoned by Trump during his last days in office.

Lil Wayne had pleaded guilty to illegal gun possession on December 11, 2020, following a December 2019 arrest. He was facing 10 years in jail and was due to be sentenced.

Taking to Twitter, the rapper penned a thank you note to the former president and appreciated him for seeing that he still had more to offer his family and the community.

He wrote:

“I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community. I also want to thank @bradfordcohen for working so diligently to secure another chance for me. Love!

In other similar news, YEN.com.gh had earlier reported that Donald Trump also granted presidential pardon to Death Row Records co-founder, Michael 'Harry-O' Harris, after spending 32 years in jail.

He was reportedly in the can for attempted murder and coc*ine trafficking.

According to reports from REVOLT, the pardon seemed to have been influenced by fellow rapper, Snoop Dogg, who was said to have had private talks with rump on January 19, to pardon the record label co-founder before leaving office. It appears the discussion worked.

In a tweet on Saturday, January 23, the lady said after her dad got out, he brought some food to her workplace. The 29-year-old woman said that act made her feel like a child all over again.

@EbonyJackin added that there were times in her childhood when she wished her dad could do that. It was a really deep tweet for many as a dad tried in his best way to make up for the time he had missed in his child's life.

At the time of writing this report, the tweet had gathered over 728,000 likes with thousands of retweets and comments.
