Currently, the mortal remains of the former Ghanaian leader is still laying in state for public viewing which has attracted thousands of Ghanaians to the venue.
There has been a number of major happenings in connection with the state funeral ever since it started on Sunday, January 24, 2021, with a requiem mass at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra.
Among the many attendees of the mass were top government officials including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Bawumia, Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, and former president John Dramani Mahama.
The body of the former president is still in the lobby of AICC amid full military guard while the Ghanaians pay their last respects to the former president and founder of the National Democratic Congress.

In a related development, a 52-year-old woman who claims to be called Abigail Rawlings has said that she is the daughter of late former president of Ghana Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings.
In a new video sighted on YouTube, the mature woman spoke passionately about her being the child of the late former president of Ghana.
She said her mother is a Togolese who has passed away, but before her death, told her daughter that Rawlings was her father.

In the video sighted by YEN.com.gh on Instagram, the mortal remains of the former head of state was brought into the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The former president's body was accompanied by heavy military guards who were dressed in full military regalia as is custom of such an August occasion.
