He was earlier accused of forgery, among other crimes, however, the court recently dropped the charges against him following a lack of substantial evidence.

Obinim was arrested by the police on the night of Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in his church.

He allegedly faked a heart complication and was rushed to the hospital instead of the police station.

He was later discharged by the hospital and was finally taken to the Odorkor police station where he was arraigned before court.

Obinim was then slapped with two charges, publication of false news and forgery of documents.
