The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced that very soon, residents in Tema and its environs will be having water running through their taps.
According to the GWCL, it started pumping water from the Kpong Treatment Plant through its 42 inches diameter pipelines on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.
The GWCL has finally completed repair works and replacement of the 120 metres of its aged steel pipe from Thursday, April 22, to Sunday, April 25, 2021.
GWCL, therefore, assured residents of Tema and its environs who had lived without water flowing through their taps that the situation would return to normalcy.
Confirming the information, the Tema Regional Communication Manager of GWCL, Sampson Ampah, said residents would get the needed water through their taps.
“We completed on Sunday as scheduled, did flushing and disinfection on Monday, as well as integrity test to ensure that all is well,” he said.
He added that the water had to be pumped gradually to avoid bursting of the line.
He further explained that due to the inactivity and dryness of the line for some days, pumping water through the four pumps at once would produce high pressure.
In other news, Lydia Forson is not enthused with the performance of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo one bit.
The award-winning screen goddess in the latest tweet sighted by YEN.com.gh expressed serious concerns with the Akufo-Addo administration's mediocre performance since taking over in 2017.
“My biggest frustration with this government is that for years, they sold themselves as the solution to all of Ghana’s problems- but see,” she wrote.
Acknowledging the administration has had some good policies, she added: “But you didn’t promise us average, you promised EXCEPTIONAL?!! So what happened?”
