Despite being the club's top scorer, his performances have been questioned by fans, even face to face.

He scored against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, but some of his decision-making irked some fans on social media.

The Argentina international has registered eight goals and four assists in 20 matches this season. He is on track to surpass his 2023/24 numbers of 10 goals and five assists in 50 appearances, per Transfermarkt.

Garnacho's message to critics

After helping Ruben Amorim secure his first win, Garnacho received some criticism online for shooting instead of passing.

Garnacho shared a defiant message on Instagram following weeks of criticism.

"I will keep doing my things," Ganarcho wrote on Instagram.

The 20-year-old has played in both games under Amorim and has performed when needed. Erik ten Hag and Ruud van Nistelrooy trusted him, meaning he is a key member of the squad.

Under Amorim, he will have to solidify his spot amid the competition with Marcus Rashford and Antony.

Why Garnacho refused to celebrate goal

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Garnacho made headlines after the Argentine youngster refused to celebrate his spectacular goal against Leicester City on November 10.

After scoring, the Man United winger caused a stir when made a muted celebration, prompting club captain, Bruno Fernandes, to ask him to celebrate.

Fernandes later explained that he refused to celebrate because he had lost support from some fans.

Garnacho shuts down fan

YEN.com.gh also reported that Garnacho has offered a blunt response to a Man United fan who confronted him outside Old Trafford to scold him.

The fan told the Argentine to "pass better" and "improve his first touch", following a recent game that put the Manchester United star under much scrutiny.

Garnacho has been facing criticism from supporters for his underwhelming performances this season.
