Manchester City suffered a relapse of form days after winning their first game in eight attempts.

The champions were held to a two-all draw by Crystal Palace on Saturday, in a weekend where adverse weather conditions hampered most Premier League games.

Daniel Munoz opened the scoring after four minutes, but Erling Haaland restored parity in the 30th minute with his first Premier League goal in four games.

Pep Guardiola's side were pegged back once again after the break after Maxence Lacroix scored his first goal for the Seagulls. The lead was, however, shortlived after Rico Lewis responded on the other end for his first of the season.

Why Rico Lewis was red-carded vs Crystal Palace

Apart from City dropping points once again, the other major talking point of the same was Lewis' red card. The England international was sent off for a second bookable offence after he was adjudged to have stepped on Trevoh Chalobah.

Replays, however, show that it was the other way around. Both players contested for the ball, but Chalobah got the benefit from referee Rob Jones since it was Lewis who flew into the challenge studs showing.

Why VAR didn't review Rico Lewis' red card

Lewis didn't get any reprieve from VAR since it was a second yellow card rather than a direct red card. Second cautions are not within the purview of VAR review.

While talking on talkSPORT, former Premier League player Jason Cundy said,

"I'm not having it. I'll tell you what, if football really wants to move down the track of improving VAR - this has bugged me for a while - a second yellow card for a red, why it cannot be looked at by VAR?"

How many games will Rico Lewis miss?

The 20-year-old will be suspended for one game, which will be costly for Guardiola. The defender will be unavailable for next week's Manchester derby.

The draw leaves City in fourth, eight points adrift leaders Liverpool, who now have a game in hand following the postponement of the Merseyside derby.

When Guardiola almost attacked fan

YEN.com.gh had earlier reported that a video has caught Pep Guardiola almost attacking a fan after he was confronted at a walkway in Manchester.

The Manchester City boss has been under immense pressure of late following the Citizen's poor run of results that has seen them win just twice in eight matches.
