Only NPP MP in Volta Region says Volta Region is no longer an NDC stronghold
The only New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) to have won a seat in the Volta Region has said that the Volta Region is no longer a National Democratic Congress (NDC) stronghold.

Micheal Gyato, newly elected Member of Parliament for the Krachi East constituency in the Volta Region, remarked that the NPP's improved performance in the region was due to poor performance by the outgoing NDC party.
The MP pointed out that due to an increased level of education in the region, people of the VOlta Region are now more discerning than they were before.

He said: “Ghanaians are now discerning. They can read between the good and the bad.”
“That is why Nana Addo is talking about the free SHS. If we have educated ones, most of them will read between the lines and vote by their convictions. We were all NDC, you go to the university, come back and you are a changed person,” he said.
