Social misfit and Ghana’s most popular afro-gipsy artiste, Wanlov the Kubolor has revealed why for the past decade, he has decided to go about his life and daily activities barefooted.

Real name Emmanuel Owusu-Bonsu, Wanlov, aside his unusual style of music, is especially known for his controversial outfits which is normally accompanied by his barefeet.

The artiste will only wear shoes under severely harsh conditions that threaten his health.

On Monday, Wanlov posted a photo of his barefoot on his Instagram page and revealed how much his feet have contributed to the memories of life he has so far.

He wrote, “10yrs no foot wear…The contact I have with earth energises me, rough terrain stimulates me, dirt soothes me, wetness refreshes me…I remember how places I have been to felt under my feet…how hot or cold it was…textures & consistencies… #barefoot”
