According to Chairman Rawlings, Valarie Sawyerr lacks integrity within the NDC, therefore she must be ignored by all well-meaning Ghanaians.
The former NDC Deputy Chief of Staff, in few weeks ago attacked the party’s founder in an article publication, over what she claimed his continues ‘flogging’ of the Mahama administration, although the party is in opposition.
Dr. Valerie Sawyerr among other things, accused Mr Rawlings of demonizing the erstwhile NDC government and its current leadership.
But speaking on the sidelines of the 2nd edition of Accra Dialogue, Jerry Rawlings insisted that, he is not surprised about attacks directed at his personalities from characters like Valerie Sawyerr.
Mr Rawlings added that, such unprovoked attacks on his hard-won integrity, could only come from persons who feel threatened by his personality within the NDC.
He reiterated that, his long standing integrity and influence still intimidates the likes of Valerie Sawyerr and her cohorts in the party.

“NDC is at a crossroads between those with integrity and those without. Those who lack it feel threatened by those of us who have the influence of integrity and that is what is frightening them. None of all these calls against us will hold. I mean it’s false, they know it but they have to propagate it,” the former President said.
Former President Rawlings had earlier indicated that, the Mahama-lead NDC suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2016 elections, due to wanton dissipation of state funds and corruption.
The NDC founder also labelled the Mahama government and his appointees as the most corrupt in the history of Ghana in a run up to the 2016 election.
The former Ghanaian leader, had on several occasions commended President Akufo-Addo’s administration for having zero tolerance for corruption.
Jerry Rawlings has also called for a complete overhaul of the leadership of the NDC, claiming the party had thrown to the wind its tenets of probity and accountability.
Against this backdrop, Dr. Valerie Sawyerr in what would be called her new epistle, lashed out at Chairman Rawlings for keeping silent, in the face of scandals that had rocked the Akufo-Addo government recently.
