The claim suggested that people could pay between GH¢9,000 and GH¢15,000 for a slot in the school.

3News reported that the claim was attributed to one Gertrude Adzo Borklo.

She posted about some correspondence about the alleged corruption on social media.

The ministry, in a statement, said this fed into the perception that the Computerised School Placement System could be manipulated with money.

“The Ministry views this allegation with the utmost seriousness and has initiated an immediate investigation.”
“We are committed to ensuring that the integrity of the school placement process remains intact.”

The person making the claim has deactivated her social media accounts.

The ministry has not ruled out the possibility that some other claims were just meant to tarnish the school.

“…other individuals, hiding behind anonymous or ghost accounts, are actively spreading similar falsehoods.”

It said it is working with the National Security Secretariat, the Cyber Security Authority, and other relevant agencies to identify and track down those behind these claims.
