Legendary Ghanaian musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, died on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the age of 60.

He fell ill at his home and was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, where he died.

The legendary singer's death sparked nationwide mourning, with prominent Ghanaians from all sectors, including former Presidents, legendary musicians and more, visiting his East Legon home to mourn with the family.

On August 31, a one-week observance of his death was held at the Black Star Square in Osu, Accra.

Daddy Lumba’s manager speaks on his death

In an interview with Stacy Amoateng on her show Restoration, Roman Fada opened up on how he found out about Daddy Lumba’s death.

He noted that he was on air when he started receiving calls seeking confirmation of Daddy Lumba’s death, but he ignored them because it had happened many times previously.

He said after his show, he drove straight to Daddy Lumba’s home, only to be confronted with the sad truth.

Roman Fada said he sought confirmation from Daddy Lumba’s wife, Odo Broni, and she confirmed the tragedy.

He noted that she was devastated and heartbroken over the news of her husband’s loss.

She arrived with her royal entourage and walked into the event grounds with elegance, greeting and consoling the family of the deceased.
