Mr. Afenyo-Markin addresses the beneficiaries

While sharing his emotional experiences of hardship during his early days as a student, Alexander Afenyo-Markin advised the 33 students to make the most of the support to secure a brighter future for themselves and their families.

According to him, the opportunity he is giving the students should serve as stepping stones to transform their lives entirely.

He shared how he was able to sustain himself throughout his education with the support from the parents of his close friends and, during his final year, how a bursary from a politician saved him financially.

He also narrated how he had wanted to marry some of his colleagues before he became a politician, but their parents kicked against the relationship. He said the parents of those colleagues now regret their action.

In his words:

"Recently, I was telling my kids, when I started life, some of my mates I wanted to marry, their parents said no. Today, they regret it. I was slim then."
