Popular Netherlands-based Ghanaian social media personality, Kofi Gabs, Mr Happiness has taken exception to disclosures made by President John Dramani Mahama regarding his government's approach in dealing with falsehoods and hate speech.

He then disclosed that National Signal Bureau had acquired advanced technology that could use a person’s IP address to locate that individual.
In this vein, Mahama said the state security would trace such people who disturb national peace with their utterances and deal with them in accordance with the law.
In reaction to the comments, Mr. Happiness expressed astonishment over the stance taken by the ruling administration, adding that this was just a waste of government resources.
"When I was campaigning for you in 2024, you didn’t ask for my IP address, but today, if I criticize your government or say something you don’t like, you trace my IP to arrest me?"
"You don’t need to arrest me; I am coming to Ghana myself. So whatever happens before I get to Ghana, the Dutch government will fight for me."

He then proceeded to lash out at the President for the decision to crack down on hate speech, adding that the new stance of the government was not going to prevent him from criticizing it.
"Allow yourself to be criticized because you spoke a lot when you wanted the mandate. Now you have the mandate, so when people tell you that you need to deliver on your promises, accept it in good faith and say, 'I am working on it.' This thing will not solve any problem. For me, I will say it, and I will come to Ghana, so if you want to arrest me, next time I’ll give you my IP address. But I will criticize you."
At the time of writing the report, the video had garnered over 2,000 likes and 100 comments.

"He was referring to 'HATE SPEECH,' which has the potential to destabilize the peace we enjoy, not criticism. Let’s pay attention when he is speaking."
Evans Anyan added:
"Mahama has no moral right to even say so in the first place because he is a direct beneficiary of the same issues. Is he more of a human being than others?"
Dompo opined:
"God bless Nana Addo for all the insults that he received during his time as president. But first, he must deal with Ama Taylor."
