The four-day event (Dote yie) began on September 15, 2025, with Otumfuo performing initial rites to make way for Asanteman and sympathisers to pay their last respects and mourn the death of the Queen, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The Asantehene led a sombre procession to Bogyawe at the Manhyia Palace to attend the “Doteyie” for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

When the king eventually sat to receive guests after the procession, traditional priests, including women and children (Nananom Akomfoɔ), took turns to pay homage to the bereaved king.

With their whisk, they performed different rites from smearing him up with a powdered substance to pouring libation as they paved the way for other sympathisers

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, one of the priests appeared to be uttering some words when his turn came. As he spoke, an intermediary listened and whispered his words into the ears of His Majesty.

The King was captured, smiling as the message flowed.
