Prophet John Wesley Amenuku Agble, the leader of the Apostolic Recovery Movement (Yeast), condemned such prophets who are known to turn their spiritual guidance into a transactional affair.
Prophet Agble comments on "commercial prophets"
In the trending video, Prophet Agble highlighted a common practice where visiting men and women of God release prophecies to the congregation just when they are about to 'raise seed' or collect offerings.
Without mentioning names, he stated that those prophets use the allure of a personal prophecy to deceive the church members into giving money, even if they had no initial intentions to.
In his words:
"Haven't you realised that if we invite prophets to church and they want to raise seed, that is when they start prophesying? They will take an envelope, and when you come to collect the envelope, he will prophesy to you."
Prophet Agble did not mince words as he called such men of God thieves who claim to stand in the name of God.
The cleric also criticised the church members, calling out their 'fakeness' for having their desire for prophecies to make them vulnerable to prophetic manipulation. He encouraged that true believers should honour God with their substance willingly, not forcefully.
And you too, because you are not real, you fall for it. Because you don't know that you have to honour God with your substance. We have to coax you to get it.
