Single mother brings graduation to standstill

In a similar story, Uganda's Sharon Aujo's mother could not hide her joy when her daughter graduated from St. Lawrence University with a 1st class degree in Guidance and Counseling.

The graduation ceremony momentarily came to a standstill as Aujo's mother, in celebration, stormed the ground with loud ululation after her name was called.

Uganda's New Vision reported Aujo's mother is a single mother and laboured so much during the two-year COVID-19 lockdown to raise her tuition fees.

“The class of 2022 had two COVID-19 lockdowns which was a setback, and when you come back, the mind switches to many things, including where the money will come from,” she said.
