In a desirable world, Michelle, a Master's degree holder in Charlotte, US, should be working in a top job raising a seven-figure salary, but she does not.
The single mother has no job or house and leads a homeless life on the streets, leaving her hurt and vulnerable.
Life took a downward spiral for Michelle two years ago when she lost her job and apartment within two weeks of each other.
Michelle gave out her daughter.

The woman who spoke to Invisible People explained that one of her lowest moments was being forced to live on the streets since she had nowhere to go.
“I had to make some quick decisions and had my daughter move to stay with her godmother for what I thought would be about 60 days, at the most 90,” she said.
She disclosed that one of the most painful things about living on the streets was watching a friend she had grown fond of die.
Wasn't being paid enough to be stable
According to the dishevelled woman, she was working in mental health but wasn’t being paid well, which is how she fell behind on rent.

“If I had been paid commensurate to my credentials and experience, I’d probably not have been in a situation where I lost my apartment," the former social worker complained.
The single mother stated that a typical day begins with her looking for something to eat, guided by luck.
Depending on the weather, Michelle then seeks opportunities to do menial jobs for people on the streets and make a little money.
Not every homeless person is uneducated
The highly articulate woman noted that by being on the streets, she shatters the notion that people who are homeless are uneducated and out there willingly.
Having been homeless for a while, Michelle advised people always to appreciate the seemingly mundane things like a home or laundry room for granted.
“My biggest wish is to be financially stable and not homeless. Number two; if I could change something in the society, like develop a foundation I’d be able to help people who’ve fallen through the cracks,” she said.
Speaking with a trembling voice and tears streaming down her face, Michelle disclosed that her third wish is to make her daughter proud by using the experience to help others.
