English Premier League Top Transfers

Erling Haaland joined reigning champions Manchester City after his Borussia Dortmund release clause was exercised. City also acquired Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United and Stefan Ortega on a free transfer.

However, the Citizens have lost several important players as they sold Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, and Raheem Sterling to Chelsea. They also lost the seasoned player Fernandinho on a free transfer to Brazil, while Pedro Porro left to join Sporting Lisbon.

As for runners-up Liverpool, the club outbid many of their rivals to acquire Benfica sensation Darwin Nunez for a club-record cost of €100 million (including add-ons). However, the Reds have also parted ways with key players. Club legend Sadio Mane was sold to Bayern Munich, Takumi Minamino went to Monaco, and Neco Williams was sent to Nottingham Forest.

To catch up to their rivals, Chelsea has splurged quite a lot in the summer transfer window as well. They let go of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to free transfers, but also added Marc Cucurella from Brighton, and Kalidou Koulibaly and Sterling from Napoli.

English Premier League Top Contenders & BetKing Ghana Predictions

According to BetKing experts, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea seem most likely to win the 2022/2023 season.

Man City played 38 games and scored a staggering 99 goals. They are a domestic superpower despite their struggles in Europe, and only a brave punter would risk betting against them.

The sentimental favourites appear to be Liverpool. Klopp is fiercely competitive and well-liked by the supporters. When it comes to facing the Reds, there’s no such thing as an "easy game", and they play with the same discipline as their manager. There's a reason why they won two titles last year.

Now moving on to Chelsea. Despite off-field issues involving previous owner Roman Abramovich, the Blues are still a force to be reckoned with. They have the best opportunity of any London club to surprise Man City and Liverpool, but after Romelu Lukaku left for Inter Milan, they need things to start working well.

Players to watch:

• Mohamed Salah

• Harry Kane

• Armando Broja

• Brennan Johnson

• Rodri

• Cristiano Ronaldo
