Malawi Crash: Major Dies 4 Months To Wedding, Invitation Card Details Leak

Malawi: A card bearing the wedding details of a military officer, Major Wales Jordan Aidini, has emerged, leaving netizens heartbroken.

What happened to the vice president of Malawi?

Malawi's vice president Saulos Chilima and nine other people died when a military plane they were travelling in crashed in Chikangwa Forest.

Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera confirmed the death of Chilima and the other nine occupants of the ill-fated plane.

According to Chakwera, the 10 left Lilongwe, the capital, on Monday, June 10, at 9.17 a.m. and were expected to land at Mzuzu Airport at 10.02 a.m., but their aircraft could not land due to poor visibility.

"Despite the experience of the aircraft crew, something terrible happened to that aircraft sending it crashing down and killing everyone on board. I understand these feelings of pain and helplessness because I feel them too. It is important that we comfort each other now and the weeks to come as we mourn together," Chakwera said in a statement.

Major Wales Aidini's wedding

It has been reported that Major Wales Aidini was part of 10 Malawians who perished in the crash. Family and friends shared a wedding card with details of Aidini's wedding.

Aidini and his beautiful wife, Toana Patience, were set to marry on Saturday, October 5.

The wedding ceremony was supposed to be officiated at Nkolokoti CCAP in Blantyre before a reception at Game Haven in Thyolo, Malawi.
