- He says those who receive the monthly income can expect it for the rest of their lives

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has revealed that he intends to provide a monthly salary to some of Ghana's more popular veteran High-Life artistes.

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has stated that, as part of his efforts to help some of Ghana's more renowned high-life artists, he intends to provide some veteran musicians with a monthly income to help them in their old age.

Speaking at the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Presidential Ball help on Friday, December 29th, the Assin Central legislator and businessman stated that artists like Nana Kwame Ampadu, Jewel Ackah,Obuoba JA Adofo and CK Mann should have received their first installment as of December 30th, 2017.

According to the Assin Central Lawmaker, musicians who receive the monthly income can expect to receive this money for the rest of their lives, something those involved are bound to appreciate immensely.

The Musicians Union of Ghana Presidential Ball event was also used as an opportunity to raise funds to assist musicians in their retirement who can't necessarily provide for themselves.

Over the last year there have been several reports of veteran actors and musicians complaining of neglect by the Ghana entertainment industry in their old age, something Hon. Kennedy Agyapong hopes to change with his new initiative.
