Completed Bank of Ghana hospital left unused

A fully furnished Bank of Ghana hospital completed 2017 in Accra has been left unused though all major installations have been done.

According to Citifmonline.com report, the 60-bed capacity hospital located in Cantonments was started in 2014 and completed in three years later.
The report says all necessary equipment and materials are supplied but the health facility is still not commissioned to admit patience.
Further investigations by Citifmonline.com revealed that the hospital was part of a GH¢445.8 million capital expenditure commitments of the bank to major projects including the construction of a data centre and a guest house.

The delay in opening the facility to the public according to the report has shot up BoG utility bills marginally, as it still pays bills for the air-conditioning among others.
The report also added that several other health facilities have either been fully or partially completed but are not fully functional.
It also sighted that the first phase of $217 million University of Ghana Medical Centre, which has been completed, but the facility still not in use due to a tussle between the school and the Health Ministry over who should manage it.
