9 photos of Ebony that prove Ghanaians won't forget her anytime soon

The one-week funeral rites of the late Dancehall diva, Ebony Reigns, is scheduled to come off today at St. Martin De Porres at Dansoman.

As it is usual with Akan customs, the main funeral arrangements, including the date for her burial, will be announced at the one-week ceremony.

But one thing is clear, Ebony Reigns is not going to be forgotten anytime soon, at least, not until some time after her burial.

Already there are signs that attest to the fact that the name Ebony will live on forever.

Rapper Wanlov the Kubolor has already named his child after the late singer. You should not be surprised if many more follow his lead.

Ebony divided opinion with her very sensual and raunchy stage performances as well as 'unusual' sense of fashion.

But after her tragic death, we have seen the fiercest of her critics singing praises or keeping mute if they have nothing better to say.

And the overwhelming admiration cannot be said to be a fluke as people have really come to terms with her achievements at such a tender age.

At just 21 (which she would have been last Friday), she dominated the Ghanaian music arena within the last year. She was actually tipped to sweep awards at the 2018 VGMAs and also become the first female Artiste of the Year winner.

Apart from that, Ebony's sense of fashion was not all controversial. There is already a style of headgear [the one she used in the Maame Hw3 video] named after her.

Ebony may have been controversial but the fact still remains she had admirers and critics in equal measure and she will not be forgotten in a hurry.
