The Odododiodio MP who spoke to Citi News after the party's Unity Walk in Somanya revealed that the incarceration of two NDC members by the Akufo-Addo-led NPP has even boosted the morale of the party to recapture power in next election.

“It is unfortunate but I can only say that this will not dampen the spirit of the NDC. Between 2001 and 2004, they sentenced Tsatsu Tsikata, Dan Abodakpi, Ibrahim Adam and Kwame Perprah. It did not stop us from winning elections in 2008. We are going to win the elections and bring Abuga Pele out,” the MP said.

Nii Lante in his interview added that members of the NDC have rather been gingered by the Akufo-Addo government after jailing two top members of the party.

Abuga Pele, the former National Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA), together with Philip Asibit was on Friday sentenced to 18-year jail term after they were convicted for causing financial loss to the state.

The former GYEEDA boss was handed a 6-year sentence, while Philip Assibit, the MD of GoodWill International Company got concurrent sentences of 12-years.

The court in a ruling also ordered the state to recover all assets and money belonging to the state from the former NDC appointees.

However, Philip Assibit on his part has since served notice that, he will appeal his 12-year jail term alongside an application for bail.
