Rapper Asem pops up; says he has been through turbulent times

Ghanaian rapper Nana Wiafe Asante Mensah, known in showbiz as Asem, has disclosed that he has been going through trying times despite his status as a celebrity.

The award-winning rapper has been under the radar, having not released any song in recent years.

The ‘Blow’ and ‘Filla’ himaker last released a single in 2013 which was titled ‘Wasted’ but has since been off the Ghanaian music scene.

Asem currently lives in New York, USA, and appears to have put his music career on hold as he focuses on other things.

The artiste, however, has suggested that he is not having things easy, saying he has been through a lot in the past few years.

In a Twitter post, he said many people would not believe it if he told them what he had been through.

“Pocket Full of Dreams, Wear My Heart On My Sleeve If I Told You Where What I’ve Been To And Through You Wouldn’t Believe,” he wrote.

The last time the rapper came in the news was in 2015 when some pictures of his surfaced on social with him looking very skinny.

The said photos led to many of his fans raising concerns about his health, since he used to be well-built.

However, Asem later came out to laugh off suggestions that he was ill, insisting he planned his drastic weight loss.

Meanwhile, some of his fans have consistently asked of the rapper's whereabout on Twitter.
