Sensational gospel act, Joe Mettle has revealed that another song was more deserving of the ‘Gospel Song of the Year’ at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards because his song, ‘Bo Noo Ni’ was less popular.
According to the musician, Patience Nyarko’s hit song, ‘Obi Nyane Me’ was by far, more popular than his worship song which featured Luigi Maclean.

Speaking in an interview with Agyeman Prempeh,popularly known as Agyengo on Power 97.9 FM, Joe Mettle revealed that to a large extent, Patience Nyarko’s ‘Obi Nyane Me’ song was more popular than his song.
The gospel act went on to reveal that in his point of view, he won the award based on the massive votes of his fans who did everything in their power to see him lift the coveted accolade.
Joe Mettle who won ‘Artiste of the Year’ in 2017 noted that all the songs in the categories he was nominated in and songs in the other categories deserved to be there and it was going to take a miracle for one song to pip the other to the awards.

Barely a week after the prestigious awards ceremony, Patience Nyarko is alleged to have rubbished the credibility of the organizers of the VGMAs.
She is purported to have said that 'Di Asa' and TV3’s ‘Mentor;’ were more credible than the VGMAs owing to the fact that she felt she was more deserving of the award than the eventual winner.
Joe Mettle picked up the ‘Gospel Artiste of the Year’, ‘Gospel Song of the Year’ and ‘Male Vocalist of the Year’ at the just-ended 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which was held in Accra on April 14.
