Shatta Wale pops up in global top 10 Dancehall artistes in 2018

- Shatta Wale has been named as one of the top 10 Dancehall artistes in the world

- Shatta Wale came 9th on the list beating Vybz Kartel and he was the only non-Jamaican featured

- The list was compiled by US-based online portal, Netnewsledger.com

Ghanaian Dancehall stalwart, Shatta Wale has emerged as one of the topmost Dancehall musicians in the world in 2018.

According to a list on Netnewslegdger.com sighted by YEN.com.gh, Shatta Wale is the ninth best Dancehall artiste in the world currently.

The list was topped by Alkaline, with Busy Signal, Charly Black, Konshens, Popcaan, Masicka, Mavado, Spice coming taking the second to eighth positions with Vybz Kartel coming 10th.

Shatta Wale feat is quite impressive considering that he was the only non-Jamaican artiste on the list.

According to the publication, the self-acclaimed ‘Dancehall King’ “…is the best in this genre not only in Africa but managed to become famous far beyond his native continent.”

“The thoughtful lyrics of this Ghanaian musician made him so popular. Shatta Wale also can be called one the most productive Dancehall artist as he drops hit after hit, the brightest are “Ayo”, “Taking Over”, and “Low Tempo,” it added.

There have been lots of debate in Ghana, especially between fans of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy over who is the best Dancehall artiste in Ghana.

While Shatta Wale has always been very popular on the Ghanaian terrain, Stonebwoy's fans and any other critics often his relative lack of international exposure as a weakness.

But it looks like he is gaining the kind of international recognition his critics have been criticising him for.
