Michael Kwabena Okyere Darko popularly known as Obrafour that means ‘Executioner’ in the Akan language is no stranger in the Ghanaian entertainment scene. The rapper who hails from the Kwawu region of Ghana is a rap legend if not icon to behold, prompting his followers to dub him the name ‘rap sofour (priest)’.Obrafour who has been in the game from as early as 1999 when he released his first album, has a lot of success tied to this, owing that the rapper has a record label tie to his name, the Executioner’s record label. Being a master in his own game, the hiplife music in Ghana, Obrafour has number of trending songs in the scene, some old, some new, all good.

Looking at when the musical giant began his career and how long his journey has been, credit to where he is now will but just flow from you. Obrafour, whose childhood dreams were that of being a lawyer, was influenced into the hiplife songs genre by one of the pioneers of the genre, Reggie Rockstone. In late 1999, Obrafour produced his first album which did very well in the music scene was considered to be one of the best hiplife Ghana music albums ever. The songs which still get an impressive amount of airplay on radios and televisions countrywide show just how great this tracks were. The Album titled Pae Mu Ka contains a number of songs, including one Kwame Nkrumah that advises the Ghanaians to unify their country for their prosperity.

Time Out For Adhesion (TOFA), his third album was released in 2003. Obrsafour’s love for his singing career is noticeable, with many songs done in the album, each successful and passionate too. A release of his fourth album also came in late the same year 2003, with a majority of the songs in it being remixes of tracks in the third album. The lead single however, Nya NteteE Pa, coincided with The Ghanaian government's efforts to fight indiscipline among the country’s youth and was voted song of the year 2003 by his listener at Joy FM. This further solidified his legendary status in the industry. His help was divided into two, the Lecture and Counseling Workshop and the Hiplife Education and Literacy Policy (HELP) Ghana initiative.

In 2004,he released a joint album Execution Diaries, a compilation of new hiplife music artistes and their tracks that he believed would enhance their careers further and surely it did. All tracks that were released in this album were some of the best in Ghana at point, proving the point Obrafour tried to pass.
